The American health care system is completely fucked. Whether you have an HMO, PPO, or no insurance at all, chances are high that you are getting screwed by the system. I am lucky enough to have a mother who works for United Health Care (she isn't screwing people, she's a registered nurse (RN) who calls people up who have insurance to tell them what their rights are and how to make sure they keep their coverage)...So I haven't been screwed. But I still hate the system. I honestly think the United States of America needs universal healthcare, or at least a hybrid between the current system, and another one. You can tell me that it's socialist, or whatever. Fact of the matter, universal healthcare works. You want proof? Okay. Here's Michael Moore's amazing documentary on the Healthcare system: SICKO. The movie, in its entirety, hosted by google video. I claim no rights to the footage, all rights to their respective owners, of course. This movie is long, it's not something you sit down on for 30 minutes, but it's fucking worth it. You need to know what's going on in the world.

Wouldn't universal health care lower the quality of health care? If everyone has the same health care available to them, there isn't any way for us to try to have the best health care we can get. Chances are, with universal health care, we're not all going to get amazing health care, and isn't good health care what the average person wants?
if you watched the documentary it shows that it's possible to have both. And I don't necessarily want universal healthcare from a government owns the system standpoint, just from a standpoint that the health care system needs more regulation. Don't believe me? How is it okay for insurance/the hospitals to say to a guy "okay...we can reattach the tip of your middle finger for 60,000....or reattach the tip of the ring finger for 12,000..." What the fuck is that? They make up numbers, nothing has a baseline and they are fucking false corrupt fuckers.
